Agricultural residues are the most cost effective raw materials for pellet production. The pellet line can fully process rice husk, wheat straw, corn stalk, cotton stalk, sugarcane bagasse and various crop straws. In addition, the biomass pellet production line is compatible with special fibrous and shell materials, such as coconut fiber, coconut coir, coconut shell, palm fiber, EFB and coffee grounds. These tropical biomass materials are widely processed into high quality biofuel pellets in Southeast Asian plant projects.

All raw materials need crushing treatment and moisture adjustment. The qualified moisture content for pelletizing is 12 to 18 percent. If the raw materials are too wet, a matched rotary drum dryer is required to remove excess water and ensure stable pellet forming and high finished product quality.
