Heat usually comes from a hot air furnace, which can burn coal, natural gas, diesel or extra biomass waste. Water inside biomass turns into vapour after heat exchange. The induced draft fan pulls damp exhaust gas out of the drum, and the matched cyclone and bag filter trap fine dust to meet emission standards. With the drum’s tilt and rotation, dried biomass moves toward the discharge end continuously. Operators can adjust drum speed, air temperature and feeding rate to hit the target moisture, normally 8–12% for pellet making.
